nota: até dia 25, é natural que os links do Festival não funcionem tão bem como esperado por razões ligadas ao carregamento da informação e videos no site.

Dentro de dias, terá lugar a 2.ª edição do Streaming Festival um evento dedicado à video-art e que estará patente por um período de quatro dias (25 a 28 de Outubro). Temos o privilégio de anunciar que os videos I Hate You - The Cut (part 2 de X-machina) e H10-One Red C. foram seleccionados para a mostra deste ano. Ambos os videos estão no programa/secção Experimental.

As obras seleccionadas pela Streaming Festival são exibidas através dos servidores do sítio electrónico do Festival. Este evento, um dos únicos no seu género, será exibido apenas na internet e baseia-se na difusão de videos independentes que não passam nos circuitos regulares de projecção ou exibição Assim como num qualquer festival, o público pode escolher, entre vários programas ou categorias de projecção, os videos que pretende visualizar. No entanto, ao contrário dos festivais comuns, o público tem aqui a possibilidade de seguir, simultaneamente, mais do que uma obra em exibição em salas difrentes ou em categorias alternadas.

Os programas passam em servidores separados, em imagem de alta qualidade e ecran cheio, sendo que a visualização dos filmes é bastante acessivel, bastando para tal uma simples conexão à internet de banda larga ou de linha telefónica. Os filmes estão divididos em diferentes secções a partir do qual o espectador pode escolher através de um índice. Tudo o que é necessário é clicar num programa pretendido: cada video terá uma página com o respectivo videoplayer e o filme será iniciado automaticamente.

O Streaming Festival tem a sua origem na Holanda (Haia) e é organizado pela fundação ISFTH .
A primeira edição teve lugar em 2006 e advém de uma colaboração com várias instituições de topo ligadas ao áudio-visual: NIAf; TENT; SubmarineChannel; Vrije Academie; Lazymarie; Filmstade e NFTVM. É patrocinado pela XS4ALL e apoiada pela Culture TV, filmmuseum e do Prins Bernhard cultuurfonds.

Within days, will take place the 2nd edition of the Streaming Festival, an event dedicated to the audiovisual arts for a period of four days (25 to 28 October). We have the privilege to announce that the videos I Hate You - The Cut (2nd part of X-machina) and H10 - One Red C.Experimental Program. has been selected for the show this year. Both works are in the experimental program.

The works selected by the Streaming Festival are simultaneously displayed through the internet servers of the Festival site. This event, unique in its kind, will be shown only on the Internet and is based on the distribution of independent movies that are not shown in the regular exhibition circuit. As in any festival, the public can choose from several programs or categories to view the videos that want to see. However, unlike common festivals, the public has the opportunity to follow more than one work at the same time avaiable in difrentes rooms or in alternative categories.

The programs are on separate servers and the image will be of high quality and full screen. The viewing of films is quite accessible, it's possible by a simple Internet connection, broadband or even by the telephone line. The movies are divided into different sections from which the viewer can choose through an index. All it takes is click into the program you want: each video will have a page with a videoplayer and the film will begin automatically.

The Streaming Festival has its origin in the Netherlands (The Hague) and is organized by the foundation ISFTH. The first edition was held in 2006 and comes from a collaboration with various top institutions connected to the audio-visual: NIAf; TENT; SubmarineChannel; Vrije Academie; Lazymarie; Filmstade and NFTVM.
